2021 : A Year in Review
Read MoreA Year in Review: 2021: Photo 1
The past twelve months have once again proven to be like no other before them. Despite this, the bus year transpired to be another year with lots going on, and lots of interest to keep spotters and photographers on their toes! In fact, in contrast to last year's review, if anything I struggled to fit everything into one short selection of photos this year!
2021 was a significant year for new fleet across the island, with Translink, Bus Éireann and DublinBus all taking significant orders of new buses and coaches. In Dublin, the first two phases of BusConnects were introduced whilst in Galway and Limerick the new TFI livery made it's debut in the form of new ADL Enviro400ERs.
The 'greening' of fleets continues to hold importance, and this was only more true throughout 2021. One could expect this will be a theme that will continue for many years to come.
In this first photo, from the end of the year, Bus Éireann (Cork) VWD433 is captured ascending Maryborough Hill with a 220 from Ovens (Grange Road) to Carrigaline via City Centre and Douglas. A visit to Limerick and Cork at the end of the year were certainly a highlight of the year for me!
