2016 : A Year in Review

[January]
It was only the second week of 2016, and many people across the island of Ireland awoke to find varying degrees of snow. Seeing it, I decided to dart down to Belfast on my first real photographing trip of 2016 to capture some snowy shots before it melted - and I was not disappointed! There wasn’t a huge amount, but enough to provide a whiter backdrop than normal.
Metro 2184 is noted here nearing the Carr’s Glen terminus of services 12a/12b/61 in North Belfast around 9am that morning.
The end of 2016 has seen an order placed for more Gemini 3s for Translink - 21 for Metro and 9 long-wheelbase versions for Ulsterbus’ 300 Airport Service. All should fitted with the new style front as per 2200, and are due delivery between January and March. I hope to get up to Wrightbus/Dennisons a couple of times in January to hopefully catch them before they enter service.
These will be the first new vehicles for Metro since the first 42 Gemini 3s in 2014, and the first new vehicles for Ulsterbus since 2013!
